Steve Brudniak: Collapsing the Wave Function
COLLAPSING THE WAVE FUNCTION
NEW WORKS BY STEVE BRUDNIAK
Davis Gallery & Framing is proud to present Collapsing the Wave Function, a spotlight exhibition by Steve Brudniak featuring key assemblage works created between 2021 and 2026 alongside accompanying studies, drawings, schematics, and experimental artifacts.
“My work has questioned reality for some 45 years. Now here we are in the dawning of the age of ‘WTF is reality?’ — and it’s not what we expected.” – Steve Brudniak
Grounded in the paradoxes of quantum mechanics—where light exists as both wave and particle, and observation collapses potential into single, definite moments—Brudniak’s practice bridges scientific inquiry, technology, and spiritual introspection. For over four decades, he has probed the mysteries of consciousness and existence. Through assemblages incorporating lasers, sensors, meteorites, manmade crystals, sound, and generative light behaviors developed with AI, Brudniak examines the delicate threshold where physical reality and illusion intersect.
Anchored by major multi-year assemblages like Odyssey of the Collapsing Wave Function, Summoning the Luxon from the Sea of Dirac, Solipsistic Coma, and Escaping the 9th Dimension, the exhibition also highlights the artist’s meticulous process. Visitors will encounter finished material studies in phenolic plastic, paper drawings, studio schematics, and preliminary studies reflecting Brudniak’s dialogue with artificial intelligence.
All are invited to join us for the opening reception on Saturday, October 24th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM to meet the artist and experience the exhibition.
