Charles Heppner's body of work “Hortus Noster in Urbe” (Lat. Our garden in the city), the photographs are created using a flatbed scanner as the camera. Heppner began making this body of work in 2010 when he was living with his brother in Chicago. The title is a riff on the city of Chicago motto, Urbs in horto (City in a garden).
